Job: Development engineer

The Internet Memory Foundation (formerly European Archive) contributes to the creation of an internet memory by archiving the web on a large scale.

Internet Memory is a unique centre of expertise in Europe. At IM, we deal with web scale data and experiment with distributed computations on
large clusters.

Internet Memory is involved in various European research projects, working in collaboration with institutions such as the Max Planck Institute or Yahoo Research.

Position

For the archival platform and European projects: design, technical specifications, implementation (code and automatic tests), documentation and maintenance.

Profile

* Master degree in computer science
* autonomous, team player
* Erlang language experience required
* web protocols knowledge required
* knowledge of Linux
* a python development experience a plus
* Pylons, Django experience a plus
* Good command of English

Internship: Competitive Intelligence and Strategy

Jointly with the new department Extraction and the Commercial Department, Internet Memory Research is looking for an intern «Competitive Intelligence and Strategy».

Internet Memory Research (IMR) is a spin-off of the Internet Memory Foundation (IMF), which supports the creation of an Internet memory for future generations.

The Internet Memory Research is an innovative and dynamic company, that beneficiates from the European experience of the Internet Memory Foundation in developing new technologies and services. Involved in many research projects, IMR develops and provides web archiving services. Thus, IMR/IMF collaborates with more than 40 prestigious institutions such as the UK National Archives, the CERN (where the Web is born!), Max Planck Institute, Yahoo! or Institut Telecom.

The intern will mainly work on an IMR major project: the development of an unique platform, specialized in web-scale data mining, dedicated to, among others, research centres and the Web Intelligence market.

Intern main tasks (M/F)
* Analyze the Web Intelligence market
* Develop and implement a monitoring system on this market: watch and benchmarking
* Valorize collected and produced information
* Develop, in close collaboration with the business developer, strategic positioning of the platform: identifying opportunities and trends
* Participate in the implementation and monitoring of several pilot projects involving European companies.

Candidate profile

* Interest in the Web, its practices, ICT and media
* Initiative, independent, team spirit
* Fluent in English (German would be a plus)
